Shire of Ursus Bay

Good Day Ursus Bay, We are approaching the Shire’s bi-monthly business meeting on Tuesday 4 November starting at 6:30pm.  Since there was a safety concern due to the location selected at our last meeting in September, the shire officers found a new location for us to use.  The business meeting will be located at the Firefly Cafe located at 901B Pollock Street New Bern, NC 28562! This location has a private room, it has a capacity of 30 persons, able to order food and drink if you wish too.  Finally, attached (2 pictures) is the agenda for the business meeting. Page one is Roll Call of the current shire officers with agenda details A-C.  Page 2 contains a new training calendar and events spiked from the kingdom calendar.  We hope you can make the meeting, we would love to have you.  We will attempt to stream the meeting, (inshallah connectivity) using either Google Meets and/or Discord.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me at seneschal@ursusbay.atlantia.sca.org.  Thank you for your time, see you soon!

Below is an important kingdom announcement from the staff for Coronation on 4 October.

Due to the smallish size of the event site, the staff is requesting that NO day shades be brought to be set up. The staff is providing a populace day shade (large), so they advise that anyone attending Coronation bring only a chair and some feast gear for the dayboard being provided.

Also, parking is going to be somewhat limited, so they are requesting that people carpool in if at all possible.

Good Evening Bears, Here is the forecast for practices over the next 45 days:

I will be hosting a practice on both Monday and Tuesday, 29th & 30th Sept starting at 6pm.

In my absence, Ingegerd Kastanrazi volunteered to marshal and will be hosting practice on Monday’s of the 6th, 20th and 28th of Oct starting at 5:30pm.

Unless we have a volunteer willing to marshal, the shire will not be conducting practice the week of the 13 of Oct.

We want to thank everyone being patient and flexible as we attempt to provide consistent and safe practices. We are shining bright, it is due to each of you. Thank you for everything you all do.
